This morning Kamea had her pre-whelp visit to the Animal Clinic Northview where her reproduction specialist Dr. Robert Hutchinson and the wonderful staff there always take personal care and delight in seeing her.  She is in fine coat, great weight not too heavy for her litter, and very fit and ready to whelp.  This is a good report since we counted a few more heads and spines today than we saw in her ultrasound earlier.  She may have as many as eleven - a plethora of puppies!

Here she is yesterday (not) posing with Tim and Polo and me for an Easter photo.  Later she ran in the garden hunting for her own peeled, hard-boiled egg halves.  She carries her puppy burden easily.  What I notice is the careful way she tends to herself.  Waiting for Dr. Hutch this morning in her exam room, she settled calmly on the cool floor and watched the window in the door in order to greet him properly.  Noble Lady Kamea.
